As COVID-19 ravages the world, the Hong Kong government is now requesting inbound travelers arriving to undergo 14 to 21 days of compulsory quarantine at a government designated quarantine hotel. During this long period of quarantine, inbound travelers are not only burdened with the thought of the hotel cost but also need to consider the quality of service. Toby has selected a series of designated quarantine hotels that offer meticulous services at affordable prices!

【Designated Quarantine Hotels】Best Quarantine Hotels in Hong Kong

Compulsory Quarantine for Inbound Travelers

Inbound travelers arriving from Mainland China, Macao or Taiwan (except persons exempted under the “Compulsory Quarantine of Certain Persons Arriving at Hong Kong Regulation” (Cap. 599C)) must undergo a 14-day compulsory quarantine at home, a hotel or other accommodation. For persons who have been fully vaccinated, whether arriving at Hong Kong via land boundary control points or the airport, the quarantine period will be shortened from 14 days to 7 days, with a subsequent 7-day self-monitoring period and compulsory testing on the 12th day of arrival at Hong Kong.

Latest Quarantine Arrangements by the Government of the HKSAR
On May 7, the Government announced the latest quarantine arrangements under the "vaccine bubble" concept. Based on the "vaccine bubble" concept and the risk levels, the compulsory quarantine period can suitably be shortened for persons arriving at Hong Kong from overseas places, who have not stayed in extremely high-risk or very high-risk places, and who have completed their vaccination course. The compulsory quarantine periods for those arriving at Hong Kong from places in China and have completed their vaccination course will also be shortened accordingly. The relevant persons will still be subject to the relevant compulsory testing arrangements.

Under the new arrangements, persons who have stayed in low-risk Group D specified places (e.g., Australia, New Zealand and Singapore), and who have been fully vaccinated, will be subject to compulsory quarantine in designated quarantine hotels for 7 days (originally 14 days). They will subsequently be required to self-monitor for 7 days and undergo compulsory testing on the 12th day of their arrival at Hong Kong.
