Born and raised in Hong Kong, Choi brings nearly two decades of dedicated cello performance experience to every engagement. A scholarship recipient at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Choi refined their craft under the mentorship of Dr. Poon Wing Chee and Professor Wang Lei, earning the Licentiate Diploma in Cello Recital from Trinity College London with Distinction. Their exceptional artistry has been recognized through numerous competition victories, including multiple Hong Kong Schools Music Festival awards and the Outstanding Young Musician Award (String Grade 8). While deeply rooted in classical tradition, Choi's musical versatility extends into pop and alternative genres, bringing fresh energy to improvisational ensembles and contemporary performances. Recent highlights include appearances at the Long Night Sunrise Concert and Taikoo Place's 2023 White Christmas Market.
