The online electricity tariff scheme is an important new measure to promote renewable energy development under the current 'Regulatory Scheme Agreement'. The government signed relevant 'Agreements' with two power companies in April 2017. Under the scheme, individuals who install solar or wind power generation systems at their premises can sell the renewable energy they produce to the power companies at a level higher than the usual electricity tariff.
