Keith Cheung

Zhang started learning the trumpet at the age of 11 under the guidance of Mr. Xu Shaohui. After graduating from the music department of Hong Kong Baptist University under the instruction of Mr. Yan Chiquan, he went to France to study at the Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory and the Lausanne Conservatory in Switzerland, where he pursued a master's degree in trumpet performance under the trumpet master Eric Aubier. During his studies in Europe, Zhang actively participated in various musical activities. He was invited as a soloist to collaborate with the Paul Kuentz Orchestra and Choir, performing several trumpet concertos in Paris. In 2018, he was on the finalist list of the Eurocuivres International Trumpet Competition. In addition to frequently participating in local orchestras and jazz ensembles, Zhang is also active in recording symphonic works and film scores.
