Oracle, named after the engraved on the tortoise shell or the animal bone (mainly the scapula), is the oldest mature text known in China and East Asia. It not only serves as the key form of the development of Chinese characters, but also bears the common early memories of the Chinese nation. In 2019, it coincided with the 120th anniversary of the discovery of Oracle, and it was also the 60th anniversary of the publication of the masterpiece of oracle bones by Professor Rao Zongxi, "The Passage of the Yin Dynasty" (Hong Kong University Press, 1959). The Hong Kong Baptist University Rao Zongyi National College will hold a special event to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Oracle Discovery and the 60th anniversary of Rao Gong's work.
In order to deepen the public's understanding and interest in Oracle and inspire curiosity about the life of the ancients, the National Academy of Art held a special oracle bone writing and writing experience called "Essence of Oracle" this autumn. Anyone is welcome to participate. The event is free of registration and free of charge. Participants can experience the process of writing Oracle and understand the writing skills of different ancient media.
Learn, practice, and write Oracle together!
