With a career spanning over a decade, Mr. Chung has always wanted to use his expertise to serve the greater good, even when he first received his professional certification. Having the same belief in mind, he has started a building surveying company with his partners and the business consists of 3 branches, including a consultancy department headed by engineers and surveyors, water, sewage, and swimming pool management by licensed plumbers and electrical engineers, and waterproof and leakproof works by engineers, plumbers, and licensed renovation experts.
It Takes Hard Work to Achieve Success
Talking about his entrepreneurial experience, Mr. Chung confessed, “Working isn’t just about the money anymore.” In order to provide comprehensive and professional services, Mr. Chung must familiarize himself with industry and government regulations and guidelines and be extra conscious with every single project. However, establishing a reputation and recognition in the industry is not a task that can be easily or quickly achieved, and Mr. Chung admitted, “We decided to take one step at a time and gradually earned the trust of others in the industry and architecture firms. Even though it took us quite some time, their recognition has given us immense encouragement.”
Mr. Chung and his team always do their best to earn their clients’ trust by maintaining good communication and being detail oriented. Mr. Chung shared, “When our clients are satisfied and happy, we get more referrals.”
Aside from the invaluable work of his colleagues and partners, Mr. Chung has also secured the support of his wife when he started his new venture, he said, “My wife is really supportive of my career, and I am thankful that she is backing me up.” Mr. Chung has decided to show his gratitude to his wife by working hard and sharing the joy of his success.

Mr. Chung once had a situation with another project when he was getting ready for a new client meeting and had to reschedule due to a shortage of staff; therefore, he made the decision to restructure his company and establish different teams to cope with client appointments.

While most industries have been hit hard by the pandemic, Mr. Chung grasped the opportunity to share his knowledge and raise public awareness of the importance of sewage pipe maintenance, which led to an increased amount of enquiries and orders.
Success doesn’t come easy. Mr. Chung revealed, “I will keep steadfast to stay grounded, maintain an open-mind, and provide quality services.” While Mr. Chung’s road to success might seem smooth and easy, it actually involved plenty of hard work and perseverance.
