What’s the booking process for post-renovation and move-in cleaning?

After payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation email and we will start the pairing process. Once there is a match, you will receive a confirmation SMS and email with the staff information. However, if there is no match, you will receive an email notification and your authorized payment will be cancelled.

What does post-renovation cleaning cover?

If you have items on a shelf, we will only clean the exterior. In the case of windows, we will only clean the outdoor windows if there are safety measures in place.
Post-renovation cleaning doesn’t include the cleaning of chandeliers, comforters, pillows, clothing, kitchenware and decorations and the disposal of old furniture, construction waste and large items (for example, planks, cartons and corrugated fiberboard etc.)

COVID-19 Preventive Measures

In order to safeguard the health of our customers, we ensure that all staff members have not traveled outside of Hong Kong within the past 14 days and wear a face mask during the service period. At the same time, any customers who have traveled outside of Hong Kong within the past 14 days or exhibit any COVID-related symptoms, such as fever, coughing or sore throat, are advised to visit a doctor or undergo self-quarantine and should refrain from making any home service bookings. If you have already made a booking, please contact Toby to reschedule for free.

Can I cancel or reschedule a cleaning service after making payment?

 To reschedule – Please contact us 2 working days in advance and we can reschedule the booking for free.
 To cancel - Please contact us 2 working days in advance and there will be a canceling charge of $300.
 NOTE: The service cannot be rescheduled or canceled on its scheduled day and there will be no refund.

Do I need to take out Employees' Compensation Insurance?

Toby has already purchased basic insurance for all home service staff members; however, we are only a service pairing platform and the staff members are independent contractors.
Under Section 40 of the Employees' Compensation Ordinance, no employer shall employ any employee in any employment unless there is in force a policy of Employees’ Compensation Insurance to cover the employer’s liabilities under the law (including common law), irrespective of the duration of employment contract or working hours, full-time or part-time employment, permanent or temporary status.
It is best that you take out Employees' Compensation Insurance to protect yourself and the staff members. If you plan to hire a part-time helper, please purchase an Employees' Compensation Insurance policy and it will be effective for different helpers.

Do I need to provide the staff with cleaning supplies?

Our cleaning team is equipped the necessary cleaning tools, supplies and a vacuum. You only need to make sure that your water and electric supply is working.

Can cleaning be performed during renovation?

Please make sure that renovation has been completed before cleaning takes place or we will not be able to guarantee the service quality.

Reminders

On the day of the booking, please remember to answer your doorbell and calls from the management office, so that the cleaning staff can commerce wok promptly. If no one answers the door, the staff will stand by in close proximity for 45 minutes and have the right to leave and terminate service afterwards. If the customer arrives within 45 minutes, the staff will only work for the remainder of scheduled time. Toby will not issue any refund or reschedule the booking for the above mentioned situation. Please contact us 2 working days in advance if you wish to reschedule your booking.

How long is the cleaning process?

The duration depends on the flat size, the amount of furniture and the number of windows.
 Our cleaning services normally take place between 9 am to 6 pm. If you wish to schedule a booking outside of these hours, please notify us in advance.
 On the day of the booking, please try to clear out your flat before cleaning commences. The staff will contact you to sign off when cleaning has been completed.

Are there any additional charges for cleaning services?

If you reside in the Outlying Islands, Ma Wan, Discovery Bay, Sai Kung, Mid-levels or the Peak or live in a village house or near the airport or borders, there will be an additional charge of $200-$500.
In addition, if the staff are required to take the stairs to reach your flat, there will be an additional charge of $20/floor.

What can I do if I am unsatisfied with the service quality?

Please perform an inspection before signing off and point out the problem(s) right away, so that the cleaning staff can take care of it. 
If any damages were caused during the service period, Toby will only pay a maximum amount of $300/item in damages, given that the proof of damages is provided.
